Wednesday, June 3rd • 7:00 PM | Sun V Set · Marian McLaughlin
Sun V Set
Sun V Set is the musical project of Linnea Morgan, a singer-songwriter and musical creative based in Richmond, VA. Described by listeners as otherworldly and transcendent, Sun V Set’s music offers a spellbinding refuge for mind and spirit. Their body of work ranges from solo acoustic to chamber-folk collaboratives, and from stripped-down intimacy to lush, maximalist production.
Raised on classical violin and later evolving into a self-taught singer-songwriter, Morgan brings a wide musical foundation to her music. Guided by spiritual curiosity and shaped by years of musical exploration, she began writing songs as a way to make sense of her journey and hone her creative instincts. Over time, that personal practice has grown into a distinct creative voice — balancing technical sensitivity with an intimate indie-folk perspective that feels both grounded and expansive.
Marian McLaughlin
Marian is a musician, visual artist, and educator. She toured extensively in the United States and the U.K., released four studio albums, and performed a NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert. She was a Strathmore Artist-in-Residence in 2015 and led an ensemble for the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage series in 2018. McLaughlin was a featured guest for WTMD’s Baltimore Hit Parade and recorded a live set in their studio. Her latest album Alcove is a compilation of peaceful songs inspired by time spent outside gardening and walking in the woods. The album highlights the joy and gratitude felt from witnessing simple yet transcendental moments in nature, like watching the golden hour, fireflies emerging, a hummingbird zipping by, or two hawks flying overhead.
