-About-

William grew up in a musical household in Washington D.C., learning traditional folk music (fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin) from his mother, alongside lessons in classical and jazz piano. His intellectual interests led him to study literature and philosophy in college. There, he began writing songs, bringing together his longstanding passions for composing instrumental music and writing poetry.

He continues to explore new instruments (the button accordion is giving him a hard time) and genres (Django Jazz and Cajun are his latest interests) alongside composing original music. He also enjoys organizing and hosting musical events (regularly cohosting the Baltimore Old-Time Jam, hosting a house concert series, starting up a classic country jam and dance) and teaching lessons from his home studio.
